Quinta Seite (Pcia. de Entre Ríos, Argentina) por Taller Estudio Arquitectura. El proyecto surge de la investigación, a través de conocer previamente y luego indagar acerca de la composición etnográfica de la región de emplazamiento. Entendiendo que somos parte de acontecimientos que se prolongan en el tiempo.
Emplazada en el centro de la provincia de Entre Ríos, Argentina. Esta región en particular fue destino de las corrientes migratorias de los Alemanes del Volga.
En el siglo dieciocho muchas familias alemanas fueron motivadas a asentarse a ambas márgenes del Río Volga en Rusia: Bergseite y Wiesenseite. En alemán, Seite significa “lado”, haciendo referencia estas palabras a Lado llano y Lado Montañoso.
Un siglo más tarde, para mejorar sus condiciones de vida, decidieron buscar nuevos destinos, en cercanías de otro río: el río Paraná.
Con ellos trajeron sus tradiciones constructivas: El uso del ladrillo, verticalidad en los aventanamientos y el diseño de fachadas sólidas y sin ingreso hacia el frente, ya que vivían bajo la constante amenaza de invasiones.
Y así, fueron fundando numerosas aldeas que hoy son parte de la identidad de este rincón del mundo. Afortunadamente, hoy no hay invasiones que temer, solo la alegría de celebrar la vida y la memoria.

The project arises from research, through previously knowing and then investigating the ethnographic composition of the location. We have an understanding that we are a part of these historical events that last over time.
Located in the center of the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. This particular region was the destination of the migratory flows of the Volga Germans.
In the eighteenth century many German families were motivated to settle on both banks of the Volga River in Russia: Bergseite and Wiesenseite. In German, Seite means “side”, these words referring to Flat Side and Mountain Side.
A century later, to improve their living conditions, they decided to look for new destinations, near another river: the Paraná River.
With them they brought their construction traditions: The use of brick, verticality in the windows and the design of solid facades without entrance to the front since they lived under the constant threat of invasions.
And so, they founded numerous villages that today are part of the identity of this corner of the world. Fortunately, today there are no invasions to fear, only the joy of celebrating life and memory.
